Waukee Christians

Purpose and Beliefs

Many people don’t mature in their faith after initially accepting Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.  There are a variety of reasons, including not knowing the next step to take, not having the resources available to learn, not making spiritual growth a priority in your life, and not having accountablity in place to push you when you don’t feel like putting in the effort to truly grow.

Paul frequently referred to faith as a type of athletic event for a reason – we are supposed to train the same way athletes do!  Frequently, consistently, pushing your limits for an extended duration is the mark of a true athlete and of a true disciple.

The purpose of this website is two-fold:
    1) Build community between Christians who live in the Waukee area
    2) Help people develop and mature in their faith

I hope that this web page will provide the resources, accountability, and encouragement needed for many of us (yes, myself included) to began a spiritual journey towards a closer relationship with our Lord and King.

Core Beliefs of Christianity
  1. God created the entire earth, including mankind and gave us rule over everything.
  2. Adam, the first man, disobeyed God, and as a result brought sin and death into the world.  Because of Adam’s sin, all men are slaves to sin (our natural tendancy is to disobey God’s commands).
  3. Jesus, God in flesh, was born of the virgin Mary, he lived a perfect life on this Earth without ever sinning, he died on the cross and arose 3 days later.
  4. Jesus’ death and resurrection paid the price of our sin, thereby clearing the way for us to have relationship directly with God.
  5. Belief in Jesus is THE ONLY WAY to God.
  6. The Holy Spirit, the third aspect of God (1 God in 3 persons), enters us when we choose to accept Jesus as our Lord and helps us to live the way God desires.
